We believe congregations and communities flourish when pastors have the permission and tools to foster their physical, mental, and spiritual health.
Since 2007, the Clergy Health Initiative has been gathering valuable data on the physical, mental, and spiritual health of United Methodist clergy in North Carolina. Our mission is simple but big: we serve those who serve God, so that they can do their work with renewed energy, creativity, and insight. Our research-based recommendations are designed to help pastors tend to their own health over the course of a complex and compelling calling.

EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICES TO SUPPORT CLERGY WELL-BEING
We know how much pastors pour their heart and soul into caring for others. But here's the thing: we believe when they care for themselves, they're better equipped to care for their congregation. That's why we're dedicated to sharing research, resources, and stories designed to prevent burnout and seed flourishing in ministry. Along the way, we want to ensure clergy know that they're not alone, which is why we advocate for their well-being alongside fellow clergy, denominational officials, and allied organizations. Let's join forces to achieve wholeness in ministry together.
THANK YOU TO OUR SUPPORTERS!
Our work is made possible thanks to the generous time of our research participants and the generous funding of The Duke Endowment.
